Here is the story behind the picture. Boys will be boys no matter what.

I’m in the doghouse now

My parents, siblings and I had big plans today,

for we all had to go to my dads family reunion.

Mom put me in a new blue shirt and blue jeans,

telling me that I looked like a handsome young man.

****

Mom then sent me to the next neighbor’s house.

to watch Snow dogs with my best friend Toby.

Her last words are still ringing my young ears,

“ please just watch the movie and don’t get dirty.”

****

While Toby’s mom was upstairs doing her chores,

Toby then offered me a bowl of my favorite desert.

Chocolate ice cream with all the toppings included,

I figured I could have it and still manage to stay clean.

****

I did manage to keep most of the mess off of my clothes,

but then a food fight broke out with his two big brothers.

Now I have chocolate, ketchup, and mustard all over me,

by mother’s famous last words are still ringing in my ears.

****

We all got thirsty and drank all of Toby’s moms grape juice,

some of that joined the previous fresh stains that I had done.

I knew I would be grounded for life for disobeying her words,

but at that moment Toby invited me outside to see his puppy.

****

Toby and me wound up playing catch with his dog called Sam,

rolling around in the mud and Sams teeth tearing my clothes.

I was having fun with Toby and Sam until his mother saw us,

then I guess you could say that everything hit the fan for us.

****

She saw the mess in the kitchen where we tried to clean it up,

she saw the ice cream melting all over her grandmother’s table.

She saw her grape juice gone or spilled all over her clean floor,

she said you guys did all this in a matter of just sixty minutes?

****

So she made Toby and the two older brothers clean everything,

grounding the three of them from any activity for a solid month.

She called my mother and told her about what had happened here,

apologizing over and over again to mom for not keeping me clean

****

But my mother came over with clean clothes and tears in her eyes,

thanking Toby’s mom but she didn’t blame her one bit for anything.

My son knew he had to stay clean and disobeyed my last words I see,

we will talk about a proper punishment after we get back home later.

***

The family reunion wasn’t as much fun as I had hoped it would be,

for my mom grounded me from playing and I had to sit instead.

She grounded me to the house for three weeks and Toby’s house,

why didn’t I just go over there and keep my clothes clean instead?

I thoroughly enjoyed that Payge, I know what its like but only did it once, because I still remember the sore bottom I had after. However I still blame my mother for letting me go over to my friend’s house, after all one cannot expect boys to keep clean.
Good story for those to reflect.
