There are people born with it all, but I’m not one of them.

I’m not as fortunate as you,

With your flashy car and your brand new shoes.

Your parents pay for school, and you’re never on your own,

While I walk ten miles, just to get a college loan.

I work hard, because no one gives and nothing is free,

While you get drugged, intoxicated, and watch tv.

Your life is easy, while I have to settle for less,

You fly by in your sports car, while I am a dying mess.

All I do is fathom to believe and cease to impress,

I am due for failure, while you were born with success.

You have everything, but still you want more,

Your clothes are tuxedos, while mine are from the secondhand store.

I will spend my entire life working away,

While you are vacationing in Hawaii, every single day.

Even though I’m poor, I’m proud of who I am,

You are a useless coward, while I’ve become a prosperous man.

Your desires are filled, but inside you are dead,

Your heart pumps ashes, while my veins are filled with red.

You will never be happy, and you will never truly see,

While I am joyous, virtuous, and infinitely free.

You are trapped, caged within materialistic bars,

While I’m higher than ever, soaring for the stars.

You are sad and pathetic, and that’s all you’ll ever be,

There is no way that you will ever be happier than me.

False hope and fake joy is all money can buy,

You’ll never be alive, no matter how hard you try.
