Why do we overeat so much at Christmas? Just a fun poem.

I’m sitting on my chair feeling so frail.

All the food and the wine have turned me quite pale.

I’ve lost all my oomph and just want to lie down

In the hope that a snooze all my sorrows will drown.

I meant to be good but temptation was great.

To join in the festivities I couldn’t wait.

All the turkey and chocolates, the trifle and jelly

Have given me nothing but a pain in the belly.

I had lots of fun, and was full of good cheer

But now I must starve until this time next year.
