I’m Sorry I Can’t Vacuum Clean Today

Any excuse not to do the cleaning!

I’m sorry I can’t vacuum clean today,

there are too many cats there in the way.

One in a box, fast asleep by the door,

the other stretched out asleep on the floor.

The cleaner starts up with such a noise

it frightens the wits out of those two boys.

They’re old faithful friends and need their sleep

So today the vacuum cleaner won’t make a peep,

- just like yesterday

and the day before.

That will be a mess. When cleaning is postponed to the better end of cats, lots of feline hairs will be scattered elsewhere. Nice poetry.
