A poem that question the nature of secret love.

As I watch you from afar,

Knowing I cannot be where you are.

I feel the ever nagging pain,

Of all my loving in vain.

But is it true?

Is it really you?

Or have I made you my creation,

A figment of my imagination.

I feel I love you so,

But there is much I do not know.

Is it my innocent youth,

That fights to hide me from the truth?

Or do I secretly know I am afraid to see,

You are not what I believe you to be.

The imagination within the thinking mind can be so powerful. This poem reminds me of that and the heartache that can surface… Well done!
