This is a poem I quickly wrote about suicide. Someone on another site commented on one of my suicide poems- "that is horrible"…which I thought it was supposed to be lol…which lead my to thinking could I write one which was nice in a way..with a push from someone I decided to give it a try…so here goes.

The blade as swift and delicate

as a hummingbird in flight

rapidly spinning like the tiny wings of hope

imitating the gentle humming of my heart

what precious execution i have control over

lying on a bed of crimson petals

closing in on the darkness

tranquility coursing through my veins

the great beyond calling out my name

outlining my time with a crisp decent

a fresh start blooming over a different horizon

my skin begins to leak and blend

an effortless shattering of my soul

soon to be running free

gracing my bare feet

in everlasting fields of golden wonder

Well, if the genre could be described as beautiful at all, you’ve captured it.

This is a wonderful poem, no doubt. But it’s almost worse than the “terrible” of the other poem because like you said suicide should be terrible. This gives me a contradictory feeling, like if you were to describe poison like it was chocolate. But I suppose suicide can be this for some people. I guess it depends on what someone believes comes after death. Either way, good representation of both the sides of suicide.
