We all came from somewhere else.

when did we all decide, that we could pick and choose
those whose lifes were valuable, and those that we could lose
we try to tell each other, that they just don’t belong
but what if they are someone, who could make us e’er more strong

and when did we begin to think, of this land as ours
for we are all just immigrants, beneath the bars and stars
even the so-called natives, came from somewhere else
but we think we have the right, to put people up on shelves

to make some one inferior, because of where they’re born
or the language that they speak or the clothes that they adorn
what happened to our values, that we first all agreed upon
that we would be more just than they, that people all belonged

so give us back the creedo, make us say the pledge
give us one more reason, to lift up our mulish heads
and see the world as larger, more than just a space
give us back our liberty or take us from this place
