Sometimes the time we spend alone doing the most mundane chores can be a blessing to ourselves.
Life’s most fascinating insights come to me,
in between loads of laundry.
It is fascinating somehow,
in doing the most trivial tasks,
how my mind overflows with questions,
that to myself I ask.
And while throwing in another load,
another answer I am told.
It is amazing while waiting,
for wash, rinse and spin,
how much I learn about the person within.
So never again will I grimace and gripe,
at the mundane motions that engulf my life.
Nor will I look to my day with dread,
when feeling that I am in way over my head,
amongst the massive piles of garments that surround me.
Because the best part of my day is spent,
with me – in between loads of laundry.
