Stumbling through the streets of Bethlehem town
A group of simple shepherds in the night
Looking for a king, wearing not a crown
Responding to angelic vision bright
A choir lit the sky, filling it with light
Announcing Savior’s long awaited birth
Declaring that the time God set was right
Shepherd’s cringed in fear, knowing lack of worth
Seeking in stables, for God come to Earth
A glory they’d seen, never would it fade
They searched through the town, its length and its girth
To find tiny babe, in a manger laid
In his mother’s arms, long last they found him
Divine child’s face, viewed in candle light dim
