May everything I say and everything I do bring glory to God and point others to Him.

May others see Christ in me,
A clear picture of the Holy One
Who gave his sinless life for me
That all may come repentingly.

It’s not me, It’s Jesus
The one who hung the stars
The one who never had a sin
But died for all of ours.

I want no glory for myself
But to show the love He bestows.
No worth could e’er be done by me
To earn His death upon that tree..

There is no merit in word or deed
That matches the love that He bestows
No amount of self righteousness
Can scarce repay the debt I owe.

All of life to vapor flies
Nothing’s left when life is past
All our work on earth will burn
Only what’s done for Christ will last

And even when he takes me home
And my body lies beneath the stone
I’ll point my finger toward the sky
And clearly state the reason, why.

Here is the history of my age
May men who review my days,
Read God’s love in every page
And in every line His praise.
