Inspired by Mad Girl by Emilie Autumn.

In my fairy tales

It’s not the prince, but the pauper

My step-mother’s not wicked

And I’m a good daughter

I dance in the fields

And I’m not afraid to sing

My friends are all with me

And I don’t need a thing

I’ve not a care in the world

Till the evil witch comes along

Then the servant-boy saves me

And nothing else could go wrong

We go back home

We are greeted with glee

And the pauper is knighted

For such a brave deed

We are wed and live

Not quite happily ever after

But we are content

We experience pain and laughter

In my fairy tales

Life isn’t perfect

But it’s close

I love how you took the classic fairy tale and added it to how you live your life and how it wasn’t a cliche story. :)
