A Senryu is an haiku but instead of centering on nature it centers on the human condition. In the winter, I count my blessing that I have a roof over my head and heat for my family. So many people, even in this rich country, do not and spend many nights shivering.

Hands stiff and aching

Cold air blows into the cracks,

Not enough blankets.

I’ve never heard of Senyru before. So I’ve learned something as well as enjoyed reading it. Thanks for the post.
