A poem dealing with the themes of attraction, love, erotic longing, affection and reassurance.
What do I see, you may ask?
When I look upon your face
And a smile touches my lips gently
When the light of your being
Fills my soul with warmth
When I hear your voice
And your sweet honeyed words
Reach my waiting ears
Calming my fears and worries
Settling me from within
When I inhale the scent of you
Memorizing the intoxication
The heady aroma I crave
Sending me to a place of bliss
Wanting just one more breath
When I taste your lips
And I drink you in deeply
Like the last water in the desert
Fevered passion that pulls me in
And sends me to the edge
When I feel your touch upon my skin
Euphoric shivers run rampant
Electric currents down my spine
My eyes flutter closed
A shuddered breath escapes my lips
My muscles taught in anticipation
Ecstasy of the heart
My very life singing from on high
When our souls meet
The heat of such exchange
Melting into you
Becoming one
Being wrapped in your light
A thread of gold
Encircling my heart
Weaved into my being
Forever seared into my mind
The sight of you
The sound of you
The scent of you
The taste of you
The touch of you
The soul of you
And you really don’t know
What it is I see?
