That first Easter was wondrous!
IN THE GARDEN
Coolness greets the kiss of dawn
As sleepy soldiers, astonished, are put upon!
Light, brighter than the midday sun,
Greets them full and strikes them dumb,
An angel stands at the tomb’s great rock,
As easily as a feather moves the block,
Then jumps and sits upon the stone,
The world would never be alone,
Appearing in the entrance-way,
Jesus stands forth – alive this day!
Creation – so silent – bursts forth in song!
Jesus walks to be with us among!
