Since time began there have always been wars. The why’s of these wars aren’t really for you and I to understand. However, when you loose a husband, wife, or child, we have to wonder why, and will these wars ever stop?

In The Line of Duty

They marched off to war to give us freedom,

They gave their lives for this great sacrifice,

Without thought of come what may,

Many today walk with no arms or legs,

Many are laid to rest in places unknown,

Graves unmarked,

No kind words of any kind,

Only the sadness of those left behind,

Parents, wives, children, loved ones,

All hoping that their loved ones would come home,

Never in anyone’s dreams would so many loose their lives,

Fighting so that today we could live in peace,

One must wonder did they give their lives in vain,

Seems that there is so much trouble in this world,

Is another Great War to begin,

So that some fanatic somewhere in a far off place,

Can bring more death and disgrace,

To the children of our nation,

Young men and women of all races,

Its time to put an end to wars,

Hoping we can live in peace and harmony,

That peace isn’t such an impossibility,

That the lives of others mean more than a bullet or a bomb,

That freedom above all can be respected,

That for once and all,

We won’t have to lay wreaths, in a far away land,

For those who will surely die,

God grant us peace from Wars.

No more tears, no more sorrows.
