Sometimes you find yourself drafted to be in the middle of a dispute between two people. It isn’t a good place to find yourself in. Each party wants you to take sides.

Being in the middle is hard.

Sometimes without consent

you are given that card.

You find that you are on neither side,

but on the outside looking in.

Neither wants to accept

the responsibility for their own actions,

because of the thickness

of their skin.

Pride goeth before a fall,

which is true,

no matter how big or small.

I refuse to be

the go between.

I am not trying to be mean,

but work has to be done by each part

to make the green grass green.

I am devastated

because there is nothing

that I can do,

but my story remains true.

Knowing the way things happened

isn’t always a good thing.

It doesn’t always bring

about peace and happiness.

This isn’t a good place

to find yourself in.

The middle is a position

that can be very unfair.

Pulling yourself out

is the hard part,

and I must find a way out, no doubt -

before I give into the urge

to scream and shout.
