Poem/Story.

In the middle of the night, There’s a scream
The darkness lifts for a second, I see
There’s a nothingness in the air again
But its turned into blood, It seams

I stumble to the ground to feed myself
The dark rises into the shape of fear
Once I again I find myself lost, Disappeared
And my heart has all but left

In the middle of the room the light flickers
Paranoia displaces my thoughts of escape
Should the scream get any louder, I will shiver
But if it stops I cant relate

As if my mental options were voiced out loud
The scream gets thicker through the air
I’m paralyzed by the sound of the unknown
Hands shaking as I reach for the phone

My breathing gets heavy, my lungs so tight
And by design my eyes simply shut
I try to block out this horrific scene
I don’t want to, but my mind tells me I must

I hear a creak in the darkness,
The door has been opened
I drop the phone, my only hope
Will the demon feast on me tonight?

As I peer through my eyelids, a shadow appears
A faceless being with nothing to fear
As I run for the door, the beast’s eyes glow
It feasts upon my thoughts and things I should know

My arms are ripped apart, ,my eyes bare witness
The feeling of death has me helpless
My body limp, I feel so cold
The beast finishes his meal, then returns home

I awake in my bed with a feeling of torment
The lights are out and the door has been opened
And even though I feel it was just a dream
I can’t help but think it had some deeper meaning
