A couple having problems and trying to figure out the problem. They try to reconcile before it becomes too late.

Changed in an instant.

You have become so distant.

I try to read your mind,

but fail every-time.

Lately, I do nothing more

than eat and breathe strife.

Is this what it is to be your wife?

Joy was in my heart

on that miraculous day,

but somewhere along the way

it has become faded.

I couldn’t do anything to stop it.

Before I knew it -  the bomb had hit.

My mind tries to grasp

what has happened to us.

Why do we always have to fuss?

You must believe in what you see.

You must consider my plea.

In the midst of a fire,

we could melt as easily as a candle.

Our situation has become so dire,

that we must get a handle.

Your love flows within me.

So much so -

that I can’t tell where I end

and you begin.

Please take heed my dear mate,

this matter which is at hand.

We must justify or negate

before our love becomes hopeless,

and we are much too late.

DB…A well-intended, deep plea for some soul-searching in an attempt to save a love relationship that could be facing some troubled waters. You have voiced it so eloquently…another keeper in your treasury of great poems…but then I haven’t read one that wouldn’t qualify. Thanks.

In the beginning it was love and lust, but then it is about commitment and happy life. Cherish every moment we have with our couple.
