Struggling through the final laps of this human race, having been knocked down and silenced once too often…..

press (n) – the act of gathering in large numbers or of pushing forward; a large gathering, throng.

Trudging through life

In the press

Simply part of the crowd

Fading into the background

Afraid to stand out, to be

Noticed, blending into the masses

What happened to the rainbows

Colors now blurred

Together a dull brown, the song

Once sung so freely

Choked in my throat by life’s cruelty

Now cheers no one

The feet that were quick to dance

Or leap for joy now shuffling along

In the press

The sea of humanity

Mediocrity and indifference

Beautiful Poem…. but you must be strong and carry. Life still has lots of nice packages for you.

Very nice I like the use of the word press. We can’t allow humanity to stifle us.

Your poem was beautiful. What a clever way to use press in a poem. I was not sure what I was expecting, but I really enjoyed it.
