The life of man, as it is meant to be.

IN THE ROUGH
I was born a lump of coal,
Not much to see – no set goal,
Life offered me a chance or two,
I usually came out black and blue,
Over time and life I found my way,
The good, the bad, I’d have my say,
This lump of coal endured real life,
As meant to be – one with strife,
All these things which came to me,
Have led me to the man I be,
Coal I started and took the heat,
The pressure too, and the beat,
Now here I stand this lump of coal,
A diamond now with great soul.
