we were doomed to die

from the moment we were born

it is an inevitable possibility

a fact that must be accomplished

it brings peace to its victims

and grief to those left behind

neither riches nor power can guard against it

it feels no pity for the poor nor the helpless

it respects neither kings nor slaves

and there is no remedy against it

but there is hope for those who lived right

hope of a life after death

hope to live forever in paradise

with our lord and king.
