A song or poem. I haven’t come up with music yet.
It seems like there’s never a place for us to go
You try to get my attention but it seems I’ll never know
But even if I did, I don’t think it would work out
Both my head and heart are filled with doubt
I don’t think we could ever be more than we are nowadays
And one day soon we’ll have to go our separate ways
But my heart and mouth are connected to each other
They resemble one another
My inhibitions are good at blocking
And the clock keeps tick-tocking
Keeping me from being yours and you being mine
We’re running out of time
Now when I’m with you, I feel like I’m floating away
Feel warm and bubbly inside like the month of May
And I never really know what to say
When my emotions get in the way
Without you I feel like I’m going to drown
The water fills my lungs, pulling me down
And I can’t explain why I’m melting this way
I definitely can’t control it, so I roll with it
My inhibitions are good at blocking
And the clock keeps tick-tocking
Keeping me from being yours and you being mine
We’re running out of time
