Beginner of the dating game

Naïve young lady takes a ride with boys

Next thing she’s had a few drinks and feels fine

Making her feel special

Taking a stroll along the beach

A romantic moment turned to violence

A knife on her chin, assault

Ripping off her clothes fighting back to stop

Not listening he continues, force

It cuts at her in outrage, she continues to struggle

He stays persistent, all is lost in one moment

As he ravishes her body with no consent

In a minute it’s over and he kisses her cheek

Holding back the tears she gets up stranded

On the beach in the moonlight

What could have been romantic

Was a consequence, innocence taken for granted

Influential, a lesson learned on what should have been bliss
