Writer’s Challenge #14 “Enemy” and ‘Broken Mirror"

I look at that broken mirror.

Why treat it with such disdain?

Why smash that innocent glass?

It wasn’t the one to blame.

It is not my enemy,

It is I who went insane.

Feasting  at the bakery,

My appetite won’t tame.

It had simply done its job,

The truth it will not feign.

Reflecting back my image

And the weight that I did gain.

So forgive me please dear mirror.

Sugar is my ball and chain.

Its affect is quite disturbing.

I may never look the same.

Well done. Sometimes the mirror disturbs ones appetite.

I’m not sure whether I should chuckle or commiserate. Excellent word work, again.

If it’s not the mirror it’s the dad burn scale. What’s a person to do?

I can relate to this! I too have a vengeful sprite who lives in my mirror, she has even taken to stalking behavior, following me
when I shop, showing up in their mirrors also!

I’d be filled with sympathy, if I weren’t so full of empathy (and ice cream).

Hah – that was great. I know this story. I used to have a bathroom where one would unavoidedly catch a glimpse of themself getting out of the shower. I used to have a heart attack every morning :-)

    thanks for playing dude.

Funny how this “reflects” so many of our experiences with a mirror. Great job.
