There are so many people starving in the world, is our government really doing enough.

Out in many of these vast jungles.

Forgotten people are left to struggle.

The smell of starvation in the air.

Rotten and decomposed bodies everywhere.

As flesh clings to almost bare bones.

This crime goes unnoticed while we sit at home.

Partially alive civilization, exist in the wilderness.

Trying to stay alive, starvation is at the top of their list.

Surely someone has judged, and convicted these people to death

and there are actually people out there who could care less.

Tiny delicate hands reaching desperately for mere crumbs.

Voices almost unable to say, please give me some.

Shall I sit idly by.

Turn my head, close my eyes.

In my heart my question is why?

There must be more when can do.

This is so barbaric, by yet very true.

Very poignant topic- it is awareness raising efforts like this poem that will win out in the end.
