I was incarcerated for the past three months here is my story.

They can keep me locked up,

Tell me who I cannot see,

They can make me stay in my cell,

But on the inside I’m free.

They can scream silence

Not a word can I say,

But one thing they can’t touch

Is my ability to pray.

I close my eyes and God is walking with me

We go everywhere

With him I’m free.

We go to the beach,

Let the waves hit our feet.

Sometimes he takes me flying,

He lets me have the window seat.

Tonight we walked

Under the stars so bright,

We spoke much of forgiveness,

He knows this is my fight.

I want to go away with Him

For every problem that comes my way

I want him to plan my every move,

And carefully plan what I say.

I’m not saying it’s easy

It takes commitment you see,

But life is much easier,

With God walking with me.
