A short poem about simply witnessing, and letting go of the mental chatter about accomplishment, striving, etc.

Insignificant Action
(or “The Illusion of Doing”)

significant reason
is an identified “why”
built out of
subjective reference points
created in the mind
(unnatural cross-sections
of an inseparable reality)
we create
significant reason
so that we may
purpose ourselves forward
legitimize our actions
fashion biology
energy and intent
nature
into a whatever
finally nothing
distantly in a lifetime
where motive dies
and utility is surrendered
for a simple witnessing

so here I am
actually doing nothing
just like everybody else
