Poem in Honor of American Soldiers.
Party is fun.
See the lights overhead,
which celebrate soldiers
living and dead.
Barbecue time,
please try all the food,
Music is playing
to lighten our mood.
Red, white and blue,
Flag is a’waving,
Johnny stands true,
to the freedom he’s saving,
I hope the girl kisses,
Who wears the straw hat,
white dress and blue flowers,
maybe we”ll chat.
Did you meet my mom and my dad and my gramps?
Did you dance with your date?
Did she give you the chance?
I hope you are having a ball here with us
if only by means of these words I do trust,
though your body is there,
your spirit’s with us.
Come back real soon,
we’ll all make a fuss.
