A poem about a forbidden love.

Image via Wikipedia

They say our love is forbidden,

the words they speak are unfair.

Why can’t they try to understand,

accept our interracial love affair?

I don’t care what others say,

I love you with all my heart.

I long to hold you in my arms,

but distance is keeping us apart.

I want to gaze into your brown eyes,

which are filled with such emotion.

I’ve fallen madly in love with you,

you forever have my true devotion.

I caress your milk chocolate skin,

in my erotic dreams every night.

But I awaken alone in my huge bed,

wishing that I could hold you tight.

Lovely poem and I like the picture. It shouldn’t matter about colour, as long as people love each other that’s what counts.

Nice write… would this be devoted to the Prince of Darkness? I feel the wanting to be close to the man of mystery in your writing… God Bless- fan/friend – Princess

I thought this was a great poem. It really is a shame that some people still have a problem with interracial couples even in this day and age. You did such a great job!

I think this is only a problem for the older generations. It seems someone raised most of our kids right because they don’t seem to be bothered by this once taboo subject. But a great poem hopefully further closing the door on past prejudice.

Great poem, and as a man of colour I appreciate the positive affirmnations of no color lines from all here and from you Darla.

    Interracial? Just man and woman.
    Grab it while you can.
    Another good poem Darla.
