Description of one’s travel towards death.
Traveling through the desert
On my own two feet
I stop to see the outline of a cactus;
Flowers blooming in the moonlight.
A deep shade of purple, vibrant in its own.
Contrasting from the luscious green
Of its prickly abode.
There’s not much time left until the dawn,
So I walk on.
On into the valley
With surrounding cliffs of orange;
An evil look amongst them
In the native gloom.
Jagged edges warning of the precarious dangers
Within the treacherous climb,
Now almost to my journey’s end.
Little time remains until dawn,
So I walk on.
I hear the sound of water
Rushing over stone
And as I look around me,
I see the angelic glow
Of moonlight on the water
Reflected on its delicate surface.
The beauty is amazing.
Serenity so raw.
I sense dawn approaching,
So I walk on.
Towards the sunrise, I stumble
Hardly able to contain
The joy that overcomes me
And sends me to my knees
The beauties left unseen
By the normal human eyes
Weaken my spirit, and dampen my soul.
As I finish reflecting,
I feel that it is time.
Time to let the beauty of the desert take me as its’ queen.
As the sun rises
with its iridescent glow,
I feel my heart begin to swell.
My soul is lifted towards the sky
My face forever smiling
I walk on
Into the golden abyss.
