For anyone who has been cheated on these are words that helped me realize that cheaters are very temporary-oriented. They also do not care about someone else’s feelings so what human worth do they hold, really? I went from the hurting back to my own sense of dignity once I wrote this.
I hope it reminds those who have been cheated on that they haven’t lost anything valuable in a cheater when there is so much more to who we are they will never know.
Someone else can have my smile
or eyes which resemble mine,
Someone else can come so close
to saying things that I might say;
But as for being who I fight to be
No one dear, can replace me.
Someone might gaze at you
with the same glowing awe,
or hold your hand like thee’s
no other hand to hold;
But as for how I choose to love
No one dear can replace me…..
If some night you think back
to one you held that slipped away,
and all your replacements
haven’t replaced anything
you might have found in me;
think upon this short,sweet poem
and finally see
no one dear can replace me…..
