Life is what we make it.
Some Thoughts
Life is what we make it; in this country, we’re born with certain rights, and it’s our duty to maintain those rights for ourselves and for others. And yet, often in our society, we ignore our ability to make a difference, whether through indifference or blatant disregard for what has ocurred in the past. America is NOT a perfect union. But it was founded in order to form a more perfect union.
And so what do we do with this responsibility? We place the burden on others, expecting others to make our decisions for us. “I don’t have to do anything, it’s not me who’s making the decisions anyway.” Well maybe not directly, but don’t you think your voice has a bearing on things. You have the right to petition, the right to assemble, the right to speak your mind. You do not have the right to sit on your ass and complain about shit since you CAN do something about it.
The people who get things done are the ones who raise their voices the loudest, who use what’s at their disposal to the fullest. Everyone is given talents, find out what you are good at and do it. If you are good at writing, then write and express your opinion. If you are good at thinking, develop ideas to help. And if you’re good at physical labor, then by golly get out there and help make a difference, there’s plenty of good causes that could use your support.
Money may be the root of all evil, but indifference isn’t far behind.
