Decidedly! Don’t wait until you are actually obese before yu do something about your weight.

Prevention is important. It is much easier to prevent overweight than to correct it, easier to lose a few pounds than to read just your appestat to a more healthful point after years of indulgence. Watch your weight. If you can’t control it, see a doctor. You may say you don’t care, that anything is better than bothering with scales and calories. Occasionally I hear someone, usually an elderly person, who means it when he or she says, “Eating is practically my only remaining pleasure. I’d rather eat myself into my grave than retain myself and live a little longer.” If you feel that way-go ahead. I mean it seriously. But be sure you really mean it. You might be surprised at how much satisfaction you can get from eating even while reducing if you follow a carefully supervised diet.

Superb article. I liked the before and after pictures.
I just wanted to say if you kee gaining weight despite dieting, keep going to the doctor until the doctor finds the reason.
In the 1990’s I started gaining a half pound every two days. I dieted like mad. I kept going to the doctor and told her about it and was told not to eat as much. Then I went to a new doctor and it ended up I had such severe congestive heart failure, that when your heart , it has some type of number, it’s supposed to be 50-60, mine was 15. If we would have waited, I would have had to have a heart transplant. I got medication and it was a viral version and it went completely away.

Eating for pleasure has always been the problem most people have. It may be on our own volition to do anything or to eat whatever we want but if we just try to realize how nowadays have foods done to our health isn’t anymore pleasurable. It gives us diseases and eventually suffer instead. Our body is the living temple of God and we should feed it in accordance to what he has naturally made for us to live longer.

It is not worth losing weight at the cost of health. I know of women who lost not only weight but their regular menses as well.

It\’s all about being healthy in the end. Not necessarily the number on the scale. Great job for the people in the photos!

It comes down to the saying, \”Do you live to eat or do you eat to live.\”
