Drowning in the river of death…though your only at the edge.

As the pain of the new year rings in my ears

i feel my heart start to freeze

when the lost ones begin to drown

once more in a forgotten river

once it all begins to sing

it sits on replay

pulling me back down to sadness

to climb and fight

for my own life after there

face begins to fade from my memories

there voice slows to a whisper

as it becomes unheard

soft loving eyes no longer see threw

the acting ways i lead

the hugs aren’t felt

and

i become unhinged

here we seem to go again

stuck in an unending

play

I have felt at times that the voices of the ones who are dead and gone would fade away. Their caresses evaporate from our skin and memory. You never forget the loss of something but that something comes into question as if we wonder–did that really happen to me, were those people really here or was it all a dream?
