It’s another very long hot day
The temperature’s in the 90’s
Sun rays are beating down on us

And burning our sensitive skin
Nature has brought us Summer
Outside it is hot and muggy
Thunder is rumbling in the distance
Humidity is rising every moment
Every hour that passes by
Rising temperatures abound

Very soon we are hoping that
Evening will bring us relief
Right now it’s hot and steamy
Yearning or a cooling break

Longing to relax on my porch
Outside after darkness arrives
Nighttime bring cooler temps
Great relief we’ll finally enjoy

Heat is causing us to sweat
Out in this sweltering weather
Tempted to jump into a lake

Dive beneath the cool water
Another very long hot day
Yearning for cooler weather
