Death is not the end of life for the Christian but only the very beginning of life eternal.

We often think of death
As the end of life lived greatly.
In fact it’s beginning
A life that’s far more stately

This life is filled with pain.
Trials and troubles abound.
Paradise lies just ahead
And that’s where Christ is found.

Our dwelling here is made of clay
And wood and straw and brick.
But up ahead we’ll live in gold
And silver and jewel’s so thick

What’s past is but a wink
A moment in the eyes of time.
Ahead’s a greater place
Where we’ll live for all of time

Death is not the sunset
Of a great life left behind
But sunrise to a new day
And a greater life we’ll find.

It’s dawn of life eternal.
It’s dawn of life with Him
The darkness is now over.
The Son shall reign again.
