This is a farewell poem designed for lovers, one facing inevitable death which I specially designed and dedicate to Evelyn Alagasi -Trinidad for the appeasement of sorrow over the demise of her beloved. For all lovers of love eternal, "till do us part", this is for you.

In my last breath I leave to you our love song,

Keep it in your heart where our keepsakes belong;

The song shall speak to you when I am gone,

Each note a separate serenade when day is done.

Let my last labored kisses quiver on the heaven of your breast,

Sighs answering sighs , a mingle of one breath,

When in tremulous delight I weave you into my nothingness

To blend with the useless dust of forgetfulness.

Why do I still linger for hot mating of lips

When even the sunbeams are gone from my fingertips?

Heaven! What is my world  coming to?–

O, Love, let me touch you before I finally go.    ###

    Thank you Gerry and Evelyn for liking my little poem.

    Goodbye, not a soft word. Oh, as if it were everything to substitute the past.
