I know there are a few things that you don’t understand.

Like why cuts hurt

And why hearts break

And why roses only bloom in the spring

I know you don’t get why things are the way they are.

Like why people are cruel

Or why people die

Or why the world is so harsh

There are a few things I think you should know.

Cuts hurt so you know you still feel

Hearts break to help you mature

Roses only bloom in the spring because they wouldn’t be so special if they grew all year

Some questions are harder than others to answer.

Why are people cruel?  Do you think they know?

Why do people die?  Who else would look out for you when you need it most?

Why is the world so harsh?

I don’t know, what are you going to do to fix it?

You see, you already have all the tools to be great.  As long as you are willing to work for it, you can accomplish whatever you wish.  Seize every moment as a learning opportunity.  The smartest people in the world don’t know all the answers, but they know where to find them. Never stop asking questions, but also realize that you will most likely have to find the answers yourself.  I hope now you understand.
