A man’s view of illness – and a woman’s too!!

Image by Dan Queiroz via Flickr

I’m close to death
He’s got a cold
My final breath
He won’t be told!

I’m back to bed
He’s off to work
My legs are lead
He’s just a shirk!!

I need some potion
He’ll miss a meal
A week of lotion
Is he for real?

It must be swine flu
You have a cold!
It’s in my spine too
You have a cold!!
Is this my time through?
YOU HAVE A COLD!!!
I need the saline crew
(walks away muttering: “I give up”)

good poem, I seem to feel like I am dying when I have the flu too, I would much rather have a cold,

I suppose a bad cold does feel like the flu. A humerous look at the problem.

Wow, very well written.. I had the swine flu around a month ago and it is not as deadly as most people think, sort of like a bad normal flu.

Swine flu, is horrible, and it really grounded me for a few day, but it is up to us to make sure we are keeping ourselves away from sick people, cover our months, don’t touch our face with our hands………the list is endless, but we can control it by doing those few things and eating healthy foods. Awesome article

funny and well written. Thoughin seriousness if you had something serious you’d really know it as its a lot worse than a cold. five of my friends have had it and recovered. Was a bit strange after all the news coverage to see it pass quickly. I’m glad they’re ok of course.

Nice one. Anticipation could hurt so much before infection sets in.

I have always found it amazing that when I am sick, I am still expected to cook and clean but when he is sick he is too sick to move except his finger on the romote.

On the other hand, even when he throws his back out he insists on taking out the garbage because he is the tough and strong one!

Good one. Strange how some men seem to be helpless when they get the sniffles.

  • Authoress Terry E. Lyle on Nov 22, 2009

    That was rather amusing. :)

Your poem is amusing. I am quite a wimp when it comes to being sick. I think I am your stumbleupon friend and so I sent you a friend request her on triond too.
    Merry Christmas.
