A poem about the woods, nature and imagination.

In the sage field a lass plays her fiddle
Mesmerizing jack rabbits
Tantalizing sparrows
And giving the deer a headache

Roosted owls preen dusky feathers
Hoots echo through the forest
Caves vibrate with hanging bats
Wings spinning like propellers

Darkness drops like a heavy cloak
Encompassing the living forest
Sprites peek from behind every tree
Fairies dance around the fairy ring

The moon is made of yellow cheese
My mama told me and I believe
Mother Nature wears a crown of stars
Her jewels are daisies and wild mountain flowers

My mama told me many things and I didn’t believe a word. That was many years ago and now I know I should have listened.

What a pic you paint with your words to create this.

I know its very late but let me thank you for your comments. This poem was written before I knew the ropes for thanking you and returning your comments. Goodself and Darlene are the only ones of you I can find. I am so sorry. If you can and you are still here let me know where I can find you.
