Trying to capture recurrent depressive episodes, which is often when I write.
In the distance, barely discernible,
But chillingly real,
Stands the old, familiar silhouette,
A stark, black outline,
A nightmarish phantom,
Against a clear blue sky.
I run to escape its ghoulish approach,
But its blackness, without movement,
Steals upon me, ever closer …..
….. Until, as I lay gasping, panic struck,
This huge, loathsome, towering beast,
Engulfs me,
Swallows me into the darkness of its soul.
And so I wander through its sightless spirit,
Clinging desperately to my sanity,
As one by one, my feelings fade and die.
I scream in desperation,
But nobody hears,
Because,
My reality now lays parallel to all others…
