Another one of jenny’s stories this one about people with disabilities. They are the same as all of us you just have to try and be their friend instead of treating people different because of how much money they have, theyre clothes, theyre friends, or what they can or cant do.
Jenny was alone throughout her high school days
people laughed as she walked by
and made fun of her in every way
her family could not afford good clothes
so jenny wore hand-me-downs
jenny always sat alone everyday her face wore a frown
she couldn’t make friends they didn’t understand
her dad didn’t make much
and her mom lost her job
everyday she went home and sobbed
she never was good at that social stuff
never invited anyway
her life was rough
going through life without any friends
was starting to get really tough
she was a beautiful girl living in that lonely world
because of how she lived without any money
she was ignored it left her alone in this ever hard world
things were getting harder when she spent the weekends alone
she needed a friend she needed to be known
the next week at school a new kid enrolled
this was her chance her chance to be known s
he’d become his friend and show people the real her
not to be judged by her clothes or her car
he was in her first class that day this was her chance to move his way
today is when she would live life her way
she said hello and he waved she asked about him and about his day
he wrote down something on a paper
she picked it up and it hit her
Ben was mute he could not talk
this was going to be a really hard walk
so that night she went home and looked it up
when people are mute they cannot talk
they communicate with their hands or carry a board and write with chalk
she saw Ben do different hand motions and this made her think
if she learned sign language they could communicate
she would have a friend to sit with her in the end
all night she studied the language practiced it and learned
the next day though completely tired she walked up to Ben and waved
he started to write and she stopped him she made a hand motion and Ben was in awe
she had learned sign language just for him
she was going to be his new friend
they walked together all the time
people just looked laughed and joked when they walked by
but they didn’t care they didn’t need them
they had each other
they had a friend
