To a phantom in dreams who has stolen my heart.

        Jewel Of The Dawn

Dim light does wake me in the morn
from sweetness in my dreams
and still her beauty I recall
beneath some moonlit beams.
Dim light does bring me from the realm
of sleep, yet still I see
with eye of mind the love I know
each night in dreamings free.

Down her mem’ry goes in morn
    from soft communings fair,
the only gentle kiss goodbye
    a brushing of her hair.
Down her mem’ry fades to nil
and I am left in sorrow
to realize her mental touch
    and hope she stays tomorrow.

Does any dream come true, or stay
here long enough to bless?
For every night her touch becomes
a sleep of happiness.
Does any dream to hers compare?
Oh – never! I am drawn
to her each night. She is my dream,
my Jew-el of the dawn.

Down her mem’ry goes in morn
    from soft embracings fair,
the only gentle touch goodbye
    a kissing of her hair.
Down her mem’ry fades to nil
and I am left in sorrow
to think upon her dreamy touch
    and hope she stays tomorrow.

You are quite the poet yourself my friend, this is beautiful, a lovely flow and the whole thing transports the reader away with you.

That was so beautiful I was almost in tears, your talented I am you do need me to tell you that, this was an excellent piece and very well written. Made me think I was laying in the field counting sheep on a summers day.

Dream on. A wonderful description of a nocturnal reverie. Just one of the disadvantages of waking up.

What a wonderful poem. Wish my own were anywhere near as good as this.
