A short poem about the life cycle of seaglass.
Blues and greens and whites and purples
Scattered along the rocky shore
Came from people like me
Who left bottles on the sandy floor.
Taken away by the roaring waves,
rolling around in their death.
Only to be spat out again
and to be granted new breath
in children’s pails
and mother’s hands.
