Years ago, when World of Warcraft was a standalone game, the little peons would announce their completion of a task by saying, "Jobs done". I could sympathize with the little fellows–carrying out duties that had no meaning for them, but that had been assigned. While I am a little more cognizant of why I do the things I do, I echo that sentiment today.

So there it is:
Another job done;
Leaving behind
A bit of good feeling–
A little bit of smugness, even.
The tools picked up,
The work area tidied.
Time to head out
For the next chore,
The next place,
The next duty,
To keep those
Undone chore rumples
In the hinter brain
Curried,
Combed,
And quiet.

    Daisy,
Know exactly what you mean. A very interesting subject to write about. Good to see you back. Hope to see more soon. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

My problem with a job done is there is usually another one waiting for me. Very well done poem.

I wish the phrase “A woman’s work is never done.” wasn’t so true. So often even if their spouse helps after retirement, they still do housework. They rarely retire until worn out, :-(
