Johnny Barbados

Or Just Captain J

Was as tainted and jaded

As any one would say

One of his eyes

Was fashioned from red glass

That would burn with fire

As sun hit half mass

He carried leather pouches

Fastened tight to his belt

That would summon great magic

If he ever needed the help

The first pouch held dust

From vampires in Spain

And if you mixed it with coconut milk

It would relieve any pain

The second was dried petals

From a sacred mystical flower

That grew through the brick

In an evil witches tower

And if it was mixed

With moss and salt from the sea

Then it would create a thick fog

And then to escape, he would be free

The third pouch was quite small

And held mermaid scales

That could pick any lock

Any chest, any cell

The fourth was rather large

Crafted in fine leather

And it held many a rare

And curious bird feathers

The first was white

From an albino mig-mug

That would repel any critter

Small animal, or bug

The second was black

It came from a Zimbang

A curious small creature

That when angry spit flames

And if you place the feather

In the strings of your boot

It would keep your skin protected

As though it was fireproof

The third was quite large

From a rainbow peacock

And if it was placed against the skin

It would turn flesh into rock

Impervious to sword, arrow or lead

It keeps your back covered, and helps keep your head

Across his chest he wore a red silk sash

Where vials and potions

And spells were kept stashed

Johnny had a potion for seeing

His way in the dark

And a potion that made you

Blend in with tree bark

Another was perfect for marking your way

Because in the dark it would glow

So on your path you wouldn’t stray

And so many more secrets, and potions

He even kept them from me

Milgrim abonomis giltonomis steed

I who was appointed his trusted first mate

Along the waves, and caves

On the path of his blind fate

So many tales, oh were to begin

The wizard? The ogre?

The sultan? Djinn?

So many tales

And so many feats

The thieves of the shadows

The sandmen from gull beach

The captain is always ready

Each and every day

To face all the challenges

That face him each day

And by some kind of luck

Or blessing had fell

As Johnny Barbados

And his crew set to sail

I like all the varities of description in the details;kind of J.K. Rowling like. I’d give this one a lot of attention. The market is starved for this kind of stuff.
