Religious violence has for long plagued Nigeria, leading to senseless killings and maiming of innocent people…
I stared at him
At the emptiness in his eyes
He was void of humanity
Blood dripped from the weapon in his hand
The blood of his victims running to mother earth
To be comforted, to seek answers
Why them? What was their crime?
He would kill for a religion
That was not his own
A religion foisted on him
He claims it is the only true religion
But I see no truth
In the lifeless bodies scattered on the streets
In the mothers who would go home to their kids no more
In the houses, burnt and brought to ruin
In the madness that has led him to this
But in his own eyes
In those empty eyes
He was Jostified.
