Life is a sojourn that is not just about comfort but about hurdles and troubles and courage…

Life is not a cosy slumber of a caterpillar within its cocoon

Protected and secure like the peas in a pod

It lives an insipid dull existence with no excitement

A ride on a soaring  hot air balloon is calm and serene

But life is riddled with Ferris wheel rides wild and exciting

Often in life the thin serpentine trail flows between

The steep fall of a precipice and a stormy sea of indigo

The arms are not always filled with soft fragrant blossoms of bliss

Dew drops of tears shimmer under the sun of adversity in raven eyes

Life is not just a hibernation of squirrels in winter

One needs to plough away the snow of troubles to pave the path

Like benevolent trees with ripe pulp and shady boughs

Not always does life deal you a sweet day of pleasure

It is often a day of brewing storms and showers of rain

And you with just the naked wet street for a home

While clouds have silver linings and storms are frilled with rainbows

At times the hours of dark dread and despair

Before the golden dawn arrives on the chariot of Phaeton and Lampton

Can be a trial of patience, bravery and faith

No pearl ever was discovered while protected by conch shells

So to live life come out of your chrysalis and embrace life…
