A narrative poem describing a fictitious meeting at the pearly gates.

Through the armour which none could pierce,
Love’s arrow cut finally into your mind.
After years of arrogance love had found you
Though you had made yourself difficult to find.

But your heart was crying, for love
Even though you had suppressed the need-
You grew up with hardship and hatred;
But even in your life was sown the seed.

It was sown ready to blossom,
All it needed was a little rain.
Straining to grow, it gave one last push-
In time to save you from going insane.

Now you saw how life was wasted
In the eternal game, and other woes;
The road was there, open in front of you-
To happiness, where as one the team rows.

All that was needed to join was a kind word
Uttered simply on your part.
Good just blossomed forth from your being,
And love and joy issued from your heart.
