When duty calls…

Jury duty, jury duty

Why do you give me such a duty

Why oh why must you show up at my door

In your white and green jury duty dress

With your no postage necessary if mailed in the United States self

If I had known you were coming

I would have nailed my mailbox shut

The next time I see you coming

I said, the next time I see you coming

Who am I kidding, I’ll see you at jury duty

I’ve been on jury-duty a couple of times in England.
Too be honest its a waste of time, the Judge let them of with a slap on the wrist. I don’t know why they bother having jury’s.

Do you have the opportunity to put forward a case as to why you are not suitable or able? We do in NZ.

LOL. I know how you feel, Shirley. Luckily, I was summoned but didn’t get called in for jury duty. @ Val: you need a real good excuse, but I believe there are people who lie about that.

Of course you will, I don’t mind serving jury duty at all. It’s a great way to see how the system works and it’s exciting, too.

I was called once, but didn’t have to go after all.

I’m glad I’ve never been called for jury duty. I would feel very very uncomfortable having to pronounce on whether I think someone innocent or guilty. I don’t think it’s my place to do that.
